Atul’s Survivor Pick of the Week: Seattle Seahawks

Steelers suck. Raiders make no sense. Go Figure. 49ers also make no sense. collectively, they allow the cardinals to the party once more. the 49ers have to lose and continue for a shot at Nick Bosa, right? common logic says yes, so I will roll the dice with the Seahawks here and see if I can get another survivor pick wrong, as I am trending in the wrong direction. More importantly, the Seahawks are currently the 5 seed in the NFC and need the wins to clinch a playoff spot. In other divisions, we are seeing things tighten, but more jockeying for position it seems. The Chiefs and Chargers do battle on TNF, division and possibly #1 overall AFC seed on the line. I like the Chiefs at home. But the Chargers are a good team who could spell trouble come playoff time. The Patriots and Steelers meet in a critical matchup; Steelers need to end the losing streak (currently 3) while the Pats need to recover from that horrific loss on the last play of the game in MIA. I suspect the Patriots continue the Steelers slide, as a backfield void of the sensational Conner is not one that inspires the confidence I had held in them prior to this slide. The Chargers have a spot all but clinched, even if they lose this Sunday, but the Ravens are suddenly in striking distance of a division that was clearly for the Steelers just a few weeks back. They host Tampa Bay, and they will win. Lamar Jackson is locked in and Flacco will be elsewhere in 2019!

#NickBosaSweesptakes  the Raiders win. the Jets win. the 49ers win. the Cardinals lose. so we have 3 3-10 teams, and a handful of 4-9 teams (BUF, NYJ, ATL, JAX). The Jets clearly looked out of hope for the #1 overall pick, and somehow were gifted late day victories in Oakland and Denver respectively by teams that could have solidified their hold of a top 2 selection. Now, it is all a mess once more. 3 games left, and anyone’s guess how it plays out. Raiders get a team reeling with a backup and reeling, while the Niners get a tough draw at home in a playoff worth Seahawks team. The Cardinals go to visit an Atlanta team that is firmly in the mix all of a sudden at 4-9, so how do they go about business this Sunday? The Jets host a solid Texans team with a need for a win, so I feel confident they will remain at worst the one game out at conclusion of the weekend as the return of Darnold is far from enough to contend with that Texans D. The Bills host a Lions team that is back to struggling and trying to get another HC fired, and lastly we have Jacksonville hosting another team on a backup QB in the Redskins, and I suspect the Jaguars pull this one out and push themselves out of this thing. I will say this – the race to 1 has been quite compelling so far, as no one appears to be tanking in the proverbial sense. Opportunities have presented and been rejected with a strong hand. Time to see who wants it most in these last 3 weeks of play!

Happy Football Weekend folks!
